Key Responsibilities:

This senior level manager will be in charge of the overall planning, direction, oversight, and administration of the contract and ensures full compliance with contract requirements. As The Kuwait Air Force support contract Manager you will develop and execute plans to support the Kuwaiti Air Force Foreign Military sales of the FA-18 aircraft. This will involve direct support to their acquisition, flight training and development of employment Tactics. You will be required to make frequent visits and to and work in country with Kuwaiti Air Force senior officials and US Military sales offices. This positions requires thorough knowledge of the combat aircraft operations, employment tactics, and sustainment. The selected candidate will develop training plans, employment strategies, and advise on maintaining a qualified pilot force.
The Combat Aircraft Advisor will work as part of an integrated, interdisciplinary team working to support internal and external facing customers. Taskings includes organizing and leading tasks as defined by the Director and GM, interfacing with the customer, and working closely with project and technical leads providing support to our government customer base. The successful candidate will requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in executing assigned tasks, leading meetings, and interfacing with industry partners. The candidate will work closely with the Director and GM to provide leadership on concurrent taskings and contracts under the group.
Responsibilities:
Implements and provides guidance related to processes and policies, oversees the work of staff, and prioritizes projects and programs.
Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures and may provide consultation on complex projects as a top-level contributor/specialist. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Ensure full compliance with all contract requirements
Routinely meet with the Prime Contractor's Project and/or Program manager
Allocates resources and sets schedules to accomplish program objectives including the quality, timelessness, and costs
Implements associated risk mitigation strategies
Participates in program reviews and readjusts resources and schedules to accomplish programs
Plans and adjusts work operations to meet changing and/or emerging program requirements using available resources with minimal impact on work quality or quantity
Facilitates continuous improvement in the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the services provided and integrates problem resolution into ongoing work without loss of workforce efficiency
Accomplish program and mission goals by relying on extensive experience and judgment
Perform a variety of complex tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude
Provide consultation on complex projects and be a top-level contributor/specialist
Interface with your team leads and senior Government personnel
Interact with your team leads and SMEs to resolve project or technical issues
Strive for continuous improvement with your teams
Adapt to new requirements and challenges
Provide verbal and written reporting to senior Government personnel
Review and certify financial reports and invoices

Work Environment:

  • Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Requires Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent such as the Governments Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level III PM Certification.

  • Knowledge of large complex DoD programs that support foreign military aviation sales, development and modification of aircraft, training and sustainment mission support

  • Very Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated success in working with diverse teams of Aviation professionals, Foreign Military Sales Programs, US State Department and analysts and business development professionals

  • Understanding of the ITAR processes for military equipment sales and support

  • Combat aircraft certification

  • Master's degree in Business Management, Aviation or a related field of study

  • Minimum of ten years of experience with complex systems engineering and/or testing efforts

  • Experience with DoD program management practices, reporting, quality guidelines, and financial management

  • Experience managing multi-million dollar DoD programs

  • Experience and qualification in the employment of combat aircraft(s).

  • Active Secret clearance is required to be considered for this position

Desired:

  • Ability to cultivate and sustain excellent long-term customer relationships including Allied Nations Military Officers

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment

  • Experience as a F/A-18 Instructor pilot

  • Squadron Commander or other senior leadership positions with responsibility for Aviation systems including Training, maintenance, and employment

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

40hrs

Basic Compensation:

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidates knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
